Alcohol is one of the most distinct smells a person can have on their breath, and anyone trying to impress friends or family, or someone that simply does not want to be called out for drinking will want to try any method to remove the alcohol smell from their breath.

Unfortunately no method is perfect, because the smell of alcohol is so strong that it is possible to perform every one of the following methods and still see no results. However, if you really need to get rid of the alcohol smell, here are some methods you can use:

Brush Your Teeth
Using strong smelling toothpaste helps remove a lot of that alcohol smell that results from the scent sticking to your teeth and gums. It does not always cure the smell form the back of your throat, but it will definitely make the smell less prominent.
Coffee
Coffee is extremely strong smelling, and could override the alcohol smell. One of the best ways to use coffee is to drink strong black coffee with no milk or sugar, as the smell of pure ground coffee tends to be even more powerful than the smell of alcohol. Swish a little coffee around in your teeth as well before you take a big gulp.
Chewing Gum
Post-coffee, some gum may be useful as well. But be advised that most people recognize that gum is used to override alcohol smells, so you may not want to be so obvious if you are trying to pretend you did not drink.
Garlic or Onion
Both Garlic and Onion are powerful smells that can cause their aromas to radiate from not just your mouth but your pores. As long as you are okay reeking of garlic smell, you may simply want to eat some strong smelling onion or garlic raw. It is not the best method for anyone looking to impress others, but if will generally take away the stench of alcohol.
